What I would do with $300…i would like to say i’d donate the money, or buy my wife something nice, but what i would really do with $300 is buy some new underwear and bras. My mother in law was visiting this weekend and while helping Dawn with laundry, she was shocked, flabbergasted, at the condition of my underthings. I will refrain from details but can say that I take no pride in my underwear et al. I don’t like shopping, and we have ZERO funds right now, so $300 could go a long way in the purchase of in tact, completely supportive and all around shiny and new under garments.

As a mother and step-mother to three children who are all preparing for back-to-school season, I think my first response would be school supplies. When did school supplies get so expensive? Between the three kids, grades 1, 4 and 6, we will spend approximately $200+ on school supplies: binders, pencils, the TI### calculator, markers, purell and the list goes on and on!
With whatever pennies were left, I would treat myself to a pedicure. A mom / step-mom deserves something nice after all that walking in all those stores for all those supplies!

If I had $300, I would use it to purchase supplies for a summer camp I am holding next week. It’s not much, but its better than what these kids have for school break excitement, which is none. This is a chance for them to get a bit creative, in a society that does not promote arts in all forms in its schools, homes, and all-around life. A chance to use their child-like imagination before being holed up in classrooms for another year. That’s what I would do. Either way I’m still putting it on, still purchasing stuff on my own, and still eating rice and beans for the rest of the month.
